The Greene County Community Improvement Corporation (CIC) has provided significant assistance to the establishment of the Greene
County Community Foundation, d/b/a Greene Giving. The CIC identified the targeted areas of focus for Greene Giving including agriculture and
community economic development, recreation and senior centers, public education, family health and services, arts and culture, as described
under Internal Revenue Code section 509(a)(1), 509(a)(2) and 509(a)(3) charitable organizations.
Greene Giving provides a variety of significant options and programs to help strengthen and support the efforts of small or emerging
charitable groups and organizations in the region.
Greene Giving can help:
- assist affiliates through agency endowments, as well as accept gifts other than cash and use charitable vehicles that charitable
organizations currently may not have the ability to administer themselves (Examples include B-W Greenway Community Land Trust, Fairborn
Parks Foundation, Family Violence Prevention Center of Greene County including their Capital Account and the Trolander Memorial,
FISH Fairborn, Greene County Council on Aging including the Partners in Care Charitable Account and the Naomi Trout Charitable Account,
Greene County Public Library Foundation, Greene County Career Center Adult Ed Scholarship including the Juanita Tipton Marrinan
Scholarship and the Mills Family Scholarship, Xenia Area Community Theater, YMCA of Dayton [Beavercreek, Fairborn, Xenia branches] etc.);
- increase deferred and planned gifts by utilizing Greene Giving’s Advisor Linked Charitable Program;
- locate other grantmaking entities for possible grants, or sources of information for and about charitable organizations;
- provide a “home” for charitable groups as a component part of the Greene County Community Foundation to tackle unmet needs (Examples
include Beavercreek Athletic as well as Education Foundation, Beavercreek Forward Foundation, Bellbrook/Sugarcreek Education Foundation,
Fairborn Athletic as well as Education Foundation, Fairborn Rotary Community Foundation, Friends of Air Force Marathon, Friends of Greene
County Children Services, Greene County Community Youth Sports Fund, Greene County College Success Partnership, Greene County Home Buyer
Education Charitable Account, Greene County Juvenile Mentorship Program, North Star Legacy Project, Owen's Place, Regional Nursing
Workforce Charitable Account, “Ride to Ripley” Charitable Account, Wright State University Student Philanthropy Charitable Account, Xenia
Area Merchants Association, Xenia Midtown District Association, Xenia Rail Fest, etc.);
- through the Greene Giving's discretionary grant program (Philanthropy Committee).
The Greene Giving takes pride in our partnership with charitable groups and organizations to help in their important efforts for the region.
